Recommend academic research products which cannot be produced domestically
Recommendation of goods difficult to be produced domestically for the sake of exemption from customs duties of goods that are imported as academic research items based on 1 and 3 of provision (1) of Article 90 of Customs Act and 2 of Provision (1) of Article 37 of Enforcement rules of Customs Law
Provision (6) and (7) of Article 92 of Customs Act
- Article 92 (Exemption from Customs Duties for Goods, etc. Used by Government): Customs duties may be exempted on any of the following imported goods:
- (6) Goods determined by Ordinance of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance from among machinery, appliances, etc. imported by the State or local governments (including corporations established, invested or contributed by the State or local governments) to measure or analyze environmental pollution (including noise and vibration);
- (7) Goods determined by Ordinance of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and imported by the State and local governments (including corporations established, invested or contributed by the State or local governments) to measure, conserve or improve the quality of drinking water;
Provision (3) of Article 41 of Enforcement Rules of Customs Act
- Article 41 (Goods, etc. Used by Government that Are Exempted from Customs Duties)
- (3) Those which are difficult to be produced domestically and suggested by Minister of the component Ministry in charge of production of competent items or personnel designated by him among following items of which taxable values per single item or set are over 1million won and parts or components (including items that are imported ex post facto for repair) are exempted from customs duties under provision 6 or 7 of Article 92 of Customs Act

- 2. Machines or apparatuses for estimating and analyzing noise and vibration
- 3. Machines or apparatuses for estimating and analyzing environmental pollution
- 4. Machines or apparatuses for obtaining and estimating water quality
- 5. Support for making promotional materials for overseas public relations
